When you click on this icon the Eclipse/Ambient plugin attempts to connect to the Compsci submit server. If successful, you'll see a list of courses to which you can submit. If you see no courses then the submit-servers are down. You can post information to the course bulletin board that the servers are down. If they're down, you can't submit, so make a note in your README, post to the bulletin board if no one else has done so, and then relax.
Here's a screen shot showing that the user has clicked on "show only .java files" and that they're submitting for the Compsci 108 nanogoogle assignment. All the .java files have been selected for submission. This student has forgotten to submit a README. If there is a file named README it should show up even when .java only is checked.
After the user presses the Submit button a dialog for entering your net-id and password pops up. You should enter them and then press login --- see the screen shot below.
Your files will be submitted. You can check on the history of your submissions using the History big-yellow-H icon.
From Eclipse, write in your README file how many hours you spent on the assignment, your impressions of the assignment, and the names of anyone you talked to that helped you with the assignment in any way. With each name include how the person helped you --- this doesn't need to be detailed, just a note "I talked to Susan", "Frank helped me a lot with Java syntax", and so on. Of course you should elaborate as needed in explaining the help you get, and this help should be in accordance with rules your Professor gives you about collaborating in the class you're taking.
