Java help?

I know absolutely nothing about Java.  I understand what we need to do 
for this assignment, but don't know where to look for syntax and 
specifics.  Where can I find the java math class that we need?  A couple 
of the links from the help page are broken, and I had no idea where to go 
once I got to the java.sun.com page.  Can anyone point me in the right 
direction?
