PIZZA!
This is a reminder that TONIGHT (Tuesday), April 6th, we will be having our
last ACM meeting of the semester. It will be held at 7pm in D106 of the LSRC.
We *will* have Papa John's pizza!
Thom LaBean will be giving a talk titled "Computation with Molecules --
Theory and Experiment in DNA-based Computation"
Since it's our last meeting, that means it's time for our annual election!
We will elect new officers immediately following the talk. Being an officer
of the ACM is a really great opportunity so I hope many of you will run. If
you have any questions about the offices that aren't answered below, please
don't hesitate to ask.
The duties of the officers include:
1. The President is the principal officer and is responsible for
leading the Chapter and managing its activities in accordance
with the policies and procedures of the ACM and these bylaws. The
President shall preside at all meetings of the chapter.
2. The Vice President shall preside at meetings in the absence of
the President, assist the President in the management of the
Chapter, and perform other duties that may be assigned by the
President.
3. The Secretary shall keep the minutes of all Chapter meetings.
Other duties of the Secretary include:
a. Maintaining the records of the Chapter.
b. Preparation of the Chapter's activity report and
officer contact information, and submission of these
to ACM Headquarters.
c. Submission of any proposed amendment to these
bylaws to the Presidents of the Membership
Activities Board. Proposed amendments must be
approved before they can be submitted to the
Chapter's membership for a vote.
d. Perform other duties as assigned by the
President.

I look forward to seeing you there.
