A word about email

Several people have emailed me problems.  You should post them to news
instead, since this will give many people a chance to read and answer
them, and you will get your reply faster.  Plus, you should feel free
to reply to other people's posts.

One more thing: Please don't call me.  Last semester, someone called
me about 108 on Saturday afternoon, and while I was talking to him, I
got a beep from call-waiting, and sure enough it was someone else with
a 108 question.  I have office hours, I can schedule more if people
want, I read news.  Please don't call me.

Use the newsgroup, come to office hours (which I must mention, no one
did tonight), but don't email just me unless you want to make an
appointment.
