The Elements of Style
(extremely affordable, a timeless masterpiece, often funny; the classic
text by Strunk and White (author of Charlotte's Web, among other things))

Mathematical Writing
(affordable and written by Don Knuth, always a plus; see also technical report
version of same thing below)

Handbook of Writing for the Mathematical Sciences
(has sections on mathematical writing, English usage, paper writing and revising,
publishing, theses, talks, posters, and LaTeX; was required reading for CPS 300 in
previous years; you may browse a copy in my office if you are curious)

An astonishing number of LaTeX resources are available on the web, but
since you will likely be using LaTeX to write most if not all your
technical documents over the next few years, it might be worth your while
to invest in a LaTeX reference book. In addition to the sites listed
below, you can probably find hundreds of others by searching on Google or
Yahoo!.
