A significant part of this project is a semester-long mini-research project. The goal is to learn how to do research in the broad area of network security. We will give out a list of suggested projects in class and you are welcome to come up with your own ideas. All your write-ups should use 10pt fonts, and we recommend using this latex template. The major milestones are:

• Tue, Sept 29: Initial project proposal due (< 2 pages). Please describe the problem you plan to work on, why it interests you, how you plan to proceed, and what you plan to accomplish at the end of this semester.
• Tue, Nov 03: Project interim report due (< 6 pages). The interim report should include related work, design, and initial feasibility analysis of your design.
• Friday 11:59pm, Dec 11: Code and project final report due (< 12 pages). Please turn in your code and a conference-style write-up for your project.
