CompSci101 - How it changed my mind and eyes (and possibly life?) Nothing is comparable to CompSci 101 is really fun, fun and fun is how all the APTs turned green - the color of hope and youth - what we paid during the nights stuck on an assignment in exchange for those bugs resolved! Before CompSci 101, apathy I chose towards CompSci, thinking it was beyond my ability to comprehend (for that, I blame those Hollywood movies that portray Tech geniuses locking themselves up, to create programs that change the world, with their hands typing at the speed of light!) During CompSci 101, hesitation, devastation, then exhilaration and pride - what an emotional roller-coaster I have been on! EarthQuake Assignment: Ahah, how fascinating! An October weekend wouldn't have been what it meant, hadn't I spent it agonzing over the max's, the min's, the frequencies and what not of the quakes happening elsewhere in the USA. Woke up, ate, coded, slept and repeated, I found myself becoming a protagonist in those Hollywood movies I simultaneously loved and detested earlier on. (Except my program didn't change the world, and I typed at the speed of a snail) But that was just the young, naive and inexperienced me before the magic of Professor Rodger and all the UTA's came along... I have now been empowered! Equipped with dictionaries, sorted(), for loop and all, I'm ready to take on the world to battle against the formidable army of Buggies to encode, decode, challenge (via Hangman) and advise (via Recommender prorgams) Except the Final, I now fear no men! Huge thanks to CompSci 101, all the UTAs and especially professor Rodger, for giving me such a meaningful, though bumpy, ride! Thank you for the cookies, candies, jokes and stories, they meant a lot to me! (quite really) Now please let me pass the Final, I will remember and love and appreciate you for life! <3 With lots of love, Natalie
