CS101 Word Game: On Thin Ice

Brief Description:

The computer will generate a word for you to figure out before the penguin falls into the ice. Each time you guess a letter wrong, one ice block will disappear. Don't let the penguin fall into the ice!

Settings:

Word length ~ choose between 4 and 10 letters Difficulty mode ~ easy = penguin starts w/ 8 ice blocks, 1 point per correct letter; medium = penguin has 5 ice blocks, 2 points per correct letter; hard = 3 ice blocks, 3 points per correct letter

Rules of Play:

Guess one lowercase letter at a time or attempt to guess the whole word. If you chose a letter in the hidden word, the letter is revealed in all the positions where it occurred (and your points get added based on the difficulty mode). If you chose a letter not in the word, the penguin loses an ice block. If you guess the whole word and it's wrong, the penguin falls and you lose the game. If you guess right, you win immediately and get bonus points equal to the number of blanks remaining multiplied by 10.
