Be a Robot
Be a Robot

- The hardest part of building the objects was understanding the
directions from the head and being able to translate them to create
the object from the blocks.
- The head was the most fun because we got to boss everyone around
and control what was going on. It was also fun because it was
challenging, and we really had to think about how to describe the
object so that the hands would create the right object. But Carolyn
thought the hands were the most fun because she did not have to see
and she got to have fun with blocks and feel like a little kid again.
- While all of the parts are essential, the head is the most
important because it is the brains and has to be able to describe the
object accurately and specificly so that the hands create the object
correctly.
- Our robot was similar to robots used in the world today because it
had the separate parts: the eyes, the mechanical parts that do the
work, and the part that does the thinking. Us talking to each other
was equivalent to robots sending electrical signals and communicating
that way. Our robot was not similar to robots on TV because they are
so much more complex and more human-like. For example, Data looks and
acts almost like a human, whereas our robot just did processing.
