Course Outline
In this course, we will select an important subset of problems in computer
vision, and we will
try to understand their challenges and key computational
issues, both solved and open. More specifically, we will cover the following
topics:
- Image formation, camera models, and their calibration
- Light and shadows
- Image processing: filtering, edge detection, and
feature extraction
- Stereo vision
- Tracking points in video
- 3D geometry from video
Depending on interest and choices of projects, we will
also choose from the following:
- Color
- Tracking objects and people
- Texture analysis
- Recognition
- Image retrieval
