I Took A Class

 

I took a class this semester

Not just any class but a class that inspired my imagination

One thing I found while I was coding when I was sequestered

Was even through the late nights, I enjoyed the mental stimulation

 

Now this class was one that was unlike any I’ve ever taken

I’d thought long and hard and my previous major held no relation

I had tried for too long to aspire to something for which I had no patience

But I know now my decision was in the right cadence

 

I’ve never really been one for trial and error

But when I’m building with no materials but the letters on a screen

I feel excitement rise up and passion swell up from the deep

I think I finally found what keeps my attention and somehow interests me

 

It’s been a long time coming cuz normally I’m still present

But it seems my mind doesn’t really give a damn about most content

Because one thing I’ve learned from my many years in education

Is, sure I might excel but only when I care will I have any retention
